Bruno Paglialonga was born in Foggia in 1941 and lives in Francavilla al Mare (Chieti, Italy). He is a painter, engraver, sculptor, historian, art critic and reviewer. He studied at the Art Institute of Pescara and at the Academy of Fine Arts in L'Aquila; qualified as a teacher of various artistic disciplines, he held the chair of Engraving from 1978 to 1995 and the teaching of "Special graphic techniques" at the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia (Italy) - of which he is also "Academician of Merit for life "- and he has conducted the annual" International Summer Engraving Courses "(Calcography, Xylography, Lithography) held by the Academy itself.
In 1985 he published "La Calcografia" (E. Riccitelli Editore, Pescara), an appreciated modern technical, scientific and historical treatise on artistic engraving. In 2003 the volume "Tra emotion and reason", was published engraved and accompanied by the author's commentary. One of his ex-libristic graphic works (from 1992) belongs to "The New York Public Library". He has made some folders on artistic graphics and drawn illustrations and numerous large architectural works while dedicating himself to ceramic and bronze works.
He has held several solo exhibitions in Italy; in Europe he participated by invitation to Biennials, triennials and collectives (Poland, Belgium, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Spain, Holland, Turkey, United States of America, Romania, etc.).
He received several "first prizes" and various other awards, including: Winner of the "Lubiam di Pittura Award, 1974", Mantova (Italy); "Special Award for the Ex Libris Academy", 1989, Bologna (Italy); "SIV Prize" at the "Michetti", 1991, Francavilla al Mare (Italy); "Menció Honorífica" of IBIZAGRAFIC '92 (Spain); "Silver Medal", Remo Palmirani Award, Ex Libris Mediterraneo Museum, 2006, Ortona (Italy); at the Sulmona Prize (Italy), "Silver plaque" 2014 and 2016 and "Merit report" 2017; "Career Award" "S. Pasquale Baylon, 2015 - Torrevecchia Teatina »(Italy); "Reporting" Award to PACI, 2015, Isernia (Italy).
Many of his works have been acquired by Italian and foreign museums and are present in their collections. The many works he produced during his long artistic career have been presented and reviewed by numerous authoritative and prestigious art critics.
